PARIS, January 3(Xinhua)-- French President Emmanuel Macron spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, local time. The two leaders called on all parties in the Middle East to exercise restraint and prevent further escalation of the regional situation.

  法国总统府当晚发布的新闻稿说,马克龙在与普京的通话中,表示法国重视伊拉克的主权与安全以及该地区的稳定,并呼吁伊朗恢复对伊核协议的全面遵守。

In his call with Putin, Macron said France valued Iraq's sovereignty and security and stability in the region and called on Iran to restore full compliance with the Iran nuclear deal, a press release released that night by the French presidential office said.

  马克龙还表示,打击恐怖主义仍是目前该地区的首要任务,法国将会继续与国际社会一道合作打击“伊斯兰国”等极端组织。马克龙和普京同意未来几天继续就伊拉克局势保持密切沟通。

Macron also said the fight against terrorism remains the region's top priority and that France will continue to work with the international community against extremist groups such as Islamic State. Macron and Putin agreed to continue to communicate closely on the situation in Iraq in the coming days.

  伊朗伊斯兰革命卫队下属“圣城旅”指挥官苏莱马尼3日在伊拉克首都巴格达遭美军袭击丧生。美国国防部说,美国总统特朗普下令实施此次针对苏莱马尼的袭击任务。

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps under the \"Al-Quds Brigade\" commander Sulaimani was killed on Wednesday in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad by U.S. forces. U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered the attack on Mr. Suleimani, the U.S. Department of Defense said.

  另外,马克龙3日还与土耳其总统埃尔多安通电话,讨论中东地区局势,其中包括叙利亚和利比亚问题等。两位领导人也讨论了法土双边关系。但法土两国官方目前都没有透露这次通话的细节。

In addition, Macron spoke by phone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday to discuss the situation in the Middle East, including Syria and Libya. The two leaders also discussed bilateral relations between France and Turkey. But officials in both France and Turkey have not given details of the call.

  法国外交部长勒德里昂当天与美国国务卿蓬佩奥通电话,讨论中东局势。法国外交部方面发表声明说,法方对近来中东局势趋于紧张表示关切,法方呼吁今后应尽一切努力避免紧张局势进一步升级,并寻求局势降温的方式,维护伊拉克和整个地区的稳定。

French Foreign Minister Le De Lyon called U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo to discuss the situation in the Middle East. France's foreign ministry issued a statement saying it was concerned about recent tensions in the Middle East and called for all efforts in the future to avoid further escalation of tensions and seek ways to cool the situation and maintain stability in Iraq and the region as a whole.
